The Mechanical Engineering Department at Wayne State University provides students with a solid technical foundation that enables them to adapt to ever-changing technologies in the workplace. Creative problem-solving skills are manifested in senior capstone design projects that necessitate the integration of concepts learned in previous courses to come up with a feasible device or machine suitable for addressing real life engineering problems. The multi-faceted projects require students to work in a team taking a promising concept, refining it through a rigorous evaluation process, machining all required components, building a prototype, proving its functionality through testing, and relying on strong communication skills to present their design and results in a public setting.

Wayne State is a beautiful campus in the middle of the city with tons to do and go see. The engineering program is strong as well, which helped me choose. The diversity and community is also great to be a part of at Wayne State University.
