The need for computer and information technologists has grown as technology advances and becomes more integrated into daily life.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects employment of computer and information technology occupations will grow much faster than the national average from 2022 to 2032. Here in Detroit, the city experienced 26% job growth in the tech space over a three-year span (2016-18), largely driven by artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation in manufacturing. According to a recent Detroit Regional Chamber report, Tech workers in Detroit earn an estimated median wage of $90,215, which is double the median wage of all other occupations in the region.
